Patricia A. Williams is actively engaged as a Consultant
offering a full range of Dispute Resolution services through her company,
Professional Ombudservices. Areas of expertise include training, mediation,
cultural competency, organizational program design & development,
public policy facilitation and education. A seasoned facilitator, she
conducts innovative workshops on Conflict Management, Cultural Competency,
Teambuilding, and Dealing with Difficult People. Williams trains in Mediation,
Developing Diverse Boards, and K-12 Peace Education. She also guest lectures
on related topics. A longtime advocate in the Arts, she has developed
SMARTARTS, specialized training and development for organizations to facilitate
cultural competency with, and in the arts.
Patricia A. Williams is an experienced practitioner in
her profession and community with over two decades of alternative dispute
resolution (ADR) and arts advocacy involvement. She has provided training
and facilitation services for a wide range of clientele including BalletMet,
Capital University, Columbus Area Mental Health, CMACAO Head Start, Concorde
Capital Development Corporation, Ohio Nurses Foundation, State of Ohio,
Strategies Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE); The Community Shelter Board;
The United Way of Central Ohio and Southwestern City Schools.
Williams is a graduate of The Ohio State University with
University Honors and served a lengthy tenure as an Ombudsman for Ohio
State. She is currently an Affiliate of the Capital University Center
for Dispute Resolution as well as Mediators of Color Alliance (MOCA) and
The National Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Previous professional
activities include serving two terms as regional vice-president Society
for Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR); serving on the inaugural
Board University and College Ombuds Association; and serving as President
- State of Ohio TICO Community Advisory Board. Community activities include
currently serving on the Boards of The Phoenix Theatre for Children, Strategies
Against Violence Everywhere(SAVE), and ACCORD, Project Diversity for The
United Way of Central Ohio. She is a graduate of Leadership Columbus;
was a founding member and longtime President of ACE Gallery; a former
vice-president OperaColumbus; a past Board member Community Arts Fund,
The Columbus Foundation; and a recipient of the “2002 Capital University
Visionary Leadership Award” in Teacher Education for her “innovative
work in peace education by integrating the arts and conflict management.”
